CorsaMotorsport will organize Track Day on 26th of June in Dato Sagor Circuit. We will allowed around 50 cars to participate in this particular event and the registration will start on 1st of April. The entrance fee is RM180 and the details of registration will be uploaded soon.
The track day will begin at 8.30am and end around 5.00pm. We will start off the event with a free run session for all our participants to get them and their car warm up. After that, time attack session which will determine the position of the cars on the starting grid will be carried on. Each participants will have 3 laps for the time attack which consist of warm up lap, timed lap and a cool down lap. Participant with best timing will start in front of the grid and vice versa.
After that, race will be carried out according to the categories. Each participants are allowed to enter 2 categories, the category that the car belongs and the next category above the car's class. Cars with mechanism and turbo will be moved on to the category above the car class to make the race fair and interesting. However, there will be no restriction on the tyre, chassis and engine mods. For further details and sponsorship, please call/sms OOI at 016-433 2113.

Tried Hot Bits 4-2-1 extractor for CPS!

Recently installed a 4-2-1 extractor from hot bits on my car and the result is amazing. The extractor improve the low and mid of my car while maintaining the high end power. If you observe the picture below you will find that the length of '4' is all equal and it's about half of the length of '2'. From what i know this is the best setup for 4 cylinder engine so it's a good buy.

Dato Sagor Circuit layout!

The pictures below show how the track look like and for those who're interested in the coming track day please stay tuned to our blog and we will update the entry method asap. :D

Corsa Motorsport 1st Attack at Circuit Dato Sagor on 26th June!

We are organizing a track day at Dato Sagor Circuit at 26th of June 2011! Cars will be divided into 5 categories(1300cc, 1500cc, 1600cc, 1800cc and Open-class). Further details will be uploaded soon. Stay tuned, for the moment please enjoy the photos of our previous track day. :D

Extractor 4-2-1 or 4-1?

In my opinion it's best to opt 4-2-1 for street use and 4-1 for track/circuit use. 4-2-1 will give the car all-round good power and 4-1 will sacrifice the low end power to give the best power at higher rev. Now, let's discuss about the design when choosing the extractors. For 4-2-1 extractors, all the pipes should be in equal length compared to it's partners, it's easy to say but hard to do so we should pay extra attention to this issue. The length of each pipes is also critical to where and how much power we'll get, longer pipes will give better pick ups and vice versa.

Lighten crank pulley.

There are basically two types of lighten crank pulley in the market nowadays which are the one with dampener and undersized type. With the lighten crank pulley the engine load will be less so that we can feel our rev climb faster, the effect is even greater with the undersized pulley. However it's safer to install the one with dampener as it can absorb the vibration from the crankshaft like the OEM pulley so that we don't have to worry about the con rod bearing wear. So make a wise choice when choosing an aftermarket crank pulley. :)

Adjustable Cam Pulley and how it function?

Cam pulley is used to rotate the camshaft which in turn will push the valve down. The timing of the valve will depend on the camshaft and the cam pulley. The timing means  when the valve is pushed down. If the valve comes down before the piston reaches its highest point called the top dead center(tdc), the timing is considered ADVANCE.If the valve comes down after the piston reaches  the tdc, it is considered as RETARD.
Advance Timing
Advance timing means the valve start to come down before the piston reaches the tdc. The advance timing will enhance the lower and mid range of the engine but peak power will be less. This setup is suitable for daly driving in the city where the engine revs at low to mid rpm levels. However if the timing is too advance, it  can cause detonation/knocking/pinging.
Retard Timing
Retard timing in the other hands means the valve starts to come down after the piston has reach its tdc.Retard timing will enhance the high the peak power but sacrificing the mid and low range power. This setting is suitable for drag or racing purposes.

Suitable piggyback for campro cps...

Can't seems to find a suitable piggyback ecu for campro cps, for E-Manage you can't tune your ignition properly and some tuner told me that he can't tune air-fuel with Unichip. I will do some research and hope to find a suitable piggyback for campro(heard that GT auto can tune ignition with E-Manage). I will update on this asap. Cheers!
